Easter Ski Holidays

Well it has to be said that the recent Easter ski holidays were one of the most disappointing I have ever experienced. Whilst there was skiing in the high altitude ski resorts, with the poor snow throughout the seasonal and the unseasonally warm weather at Easter, slopes were hard packed and lower down patchy. Its certainly not the norm and last year we enjoyed 50cm of fresh snow and 1m the year before. The good news from ski Easter perspective, least of all from a family ski holidays one, is that typically a bad year is followed by a good one. Lets hope therefore tradition is maintained and Easter is a good one next year as its great for families with longer, warmer days and typically great snow too.

Ski Half Term

Well it was certainly a very good half term ski week with snow falling the second at the start of the half term ski holidays. Up to this point many skiers had had little snow since the start of the New Year. We were however out and about in the family friendly ski resort of Les Houches in the Chamonix Valley, the first week of the half term ski holidays, prior to the snowfall and  found conditions to be surprisingly good with good snow and only the very occasional ice patch as you can see from the video below:
